In 1997 she left the interior design business
and established “Things of Steel”. It has grown
into a successful studio offering furniture,
accessories, signage and sculpture which
become integral parts of people’s households,
businesses and lives. “It’s art you can live with,”
Zorich says enthusiastically.

In 2001 Zorich welcomed Katherine Martin as a
collaborator at “Things of Steel“. “I fell in love with
the studio,” says Martin. “The smell of oil. The tools.
The steel. It kind of sparked something in me,”
says Martin. That “spark” led Martin to resign from
her position as an Executive Director at a Nonprofit
agency to become a full time partner at “Things of Steel” in 2004.

In fact, their work can be found on the East Coast and the West Coast. Chicago. Texas. California. Boston. Washington. Colorado. New York. Residential and commercial clients. European clients reside in Norway, Germany and Denmark.

Their most recent work resides at the newly
established modern Italian Grille Zazio’s in the
multimillion dollar renovation in the downtown
Kalamazoo Radisson Plaza Hotel.

Their work continues to gain in popularity and creativity. Some of their work has been licensed for commercial reproduction which allows for a large client following. They look forward to licensing more of their designs.

“Things of Steel” studio/gallery is housed in
Kalamazoo Park Trades Center suite #127. The
duo also tours nationally at many festivals and
